From 24 June till 26 June 2021, the Customs Administration of the Republic of Serbia attended the 138th Session of the Council of the World Customs Organization that took place in a virtual manner.
The Republic of Serbia became a Member of the Policy Commission of the World Customs Organization, as a delegate of the sub-group South of the European Region of the World Customs Organization.
The candidacy of the Republic of Serbia was received at the virtual meeting of the Heads of Delegation of the European Region of the WCO that was held on 8 June 2021, which was the recognition of the Republic of Serbia`s dedication to a constructive co-operation within the World Customs Organization, as well as the confirmation that the Republic of Serbia possesses an adequate capacity for the successful performance of this important task.
The Policy Commission acts as a special body that concerns itself with broad policy issues relevant to the activities of the Organization. It initiates studies on the policies, practicies and procedures of the Organization with the objective of assissting the Council to achieve the broad aims of its activities.
